Help us reach new and existing bikers and connect them with our advocate community! Here are the happenings and how you can get involved:

Pedal Pools

Pedal Pools are not only an active way to commute as a group, but Oaklanders have a history of riding with City Council Members on Bike to Work Day. Council Members are invited to ride with constituents from their Districts to the celebration in front of City Hall.

Would you like to ride with your Council Member and neighbors? Find your district and contact Chris Andree to get involved and to be a voice for safe streets.

Energizer Stations

WOBO volunteers will run 3 energizer stations at from 7:00-9:00 am on May 9th. This year’s locations are:

  • 27th St and Broadway
  • Arizmendi Bakery at 3265 Lakeshore Ave
  • Frank Ogawa Plaza by City Hall

Ride by to receive giveaway bags, snacks and information about bikeways and parklets.

Lend us a hand!

Our Bike to Work Day volunteer meeting is Thursday, April 25th from 6:00-7:00 pm at 436 14th St, 2nd floor conference room. Volunteer tasks include:

  • reaching out to pedal pool participants from various districts
  • preparing to be an ambassador for WOBO’s bikeways and parklets campaigns at an energizer station
  • planning creative touches to the energizer stations

Giveaway Bag Stuffing

Please join us Monday, April 29th at 4:30 pm at the Berkeley REI, 1338 San Pablo Ave.  Our human assembly line will fill hundreds of canvas bags for our energizer stations with giveaways, and pitch in to help others coordinated by the EBBC. Contact Chris Andree to RSVP.

Curious about biking but want more support? Our partners at the East Bay Bicycle Coalition can link you to an experienced rider with their Bike Buddy Program.
