Our Vision for Oakland:
We want every person who lives, plays, and works in Oakland to feel safe and comfortable walking and bicycling, and that they know how to make their neighborhood a better place to walk and bike.
What We Do:
- Actively participate in local planning processes to ensure that full bicyclist and pedestrian accommodations are included in the planning process.
- Design and launch key campaigns to push for the city to make good on the bicycle and pedestrian master plans.
- Nurture a vibrant bicycling and walking community here in Oakland by organizing and hosting “pop-up” community events such as Oaklavia, Park(ing) Day, and Bike to Work Day, so you can experience the streets differently even for just a few hours at a time.
Our Mission:
WOBO is a donor-based, volunteer-driven non-profit organization whose mission is to improve neighborhood livability, vitality and sustainability by making walking and biking in Oakland safe, easy, accessible and fun.
