Walk Oakland Bike Oakland was proud to bring the first car-free open streets evens to Oakland in 2010. The inaugural event brought over 4,000 people into the heart of Oakland to experience the city’s best natural and architectural assets, outdoor activities, and arts in some of our most well-loved and unique streets and neighborhoods.

What is Oaklavia?
- Experience car-free city streets for recreation and community building
- Temporary traffic closures along the entire Oaklavía route.
- Roadways become opportunities for strolling, cycling, roller skating, dancing, cafe seating, and people-watching
