On Friday, September 16, 2016, we are excited to promote PARK(ing) Day 2016! Check out pop-up parklets throughout the city of Oakland, and visit permitted parklets already in place long-term.
PARK(ing) day is an annual worldwide event where artists, designers, and citizens transform parking spots into temporary public parks, art galleries, libraries and other interesting destinations. This year PARK(ing) Day is being celebrated in locations throughout Oakland, including a WOBO sponsored parklet at Tay Ho Restaurant at 12th and Webster Streets – the site of a future permanent parklet.
Visit one or all of Oakland’s PARK(ing) Day locations to learn more about parklets in Oakland; if you visit 5 or more parklets and tag WOBO (instagram/twitter @walkoakbikeoak using #PARKINGDAY2016) in your photos, you’ll be entered in a raffle to win a WOBO t-shirt!
If you are organizing a parklet on PARK(ing) Day and do not see it on the map, add it here!
